Last week I was lucky enough to land a job working for a graphic designer. This guy is pretty successful and works out of his home, which means that I keep some pretty strange hours. The first thing I did on day one was open up Excel 2010 CBT so I could familiarize myself with all of this guy’s current projects. It took me forever to navigate around this thing, simply because I get a headache when I have to stare at a computer for longer than a few minutes. And of course these particular programs are always filled with the most mundane and boring pieces of data, which makes it all the more difficult for me to deal with.
Then I realized that I was going to be using this program a lot, so I swung by an electronic store on the way home and picked up an Excel 2010 training CD. Now whenever I have some free time I put this thing in and I get to work. I’m surprised at how easy it’s been to learn all the tricks and shortcuts, which are already making my day go a lot more smoothly. Things seem to be working out at this job and the money is even good, so hopefully I’ll be here for a while.
